April 18, 2016 Monday- Magnolia Rambler Rally in River View RV Park,  Vidalia, Louisiana across the Mississippi River from Natchez

Here we are on our pad and all set up.  Nice park, we always love coming here and watching the traffic on the river.
Not sure how this got here but oh well.  Trying to take selfies....we need more practice.

Interesting RVs(?) parking here.

Our first evening out was dinner at Roux 61 in Natchez.        This is what a table of 24 looks like.
Susan and Don MaGee clubmembers who are full timers.

Ken and his Buddy Brooks.  These two worked together forever at Ingalls and speak engineer talk which is unfortunate for the rest of us!
Our current President Dick and his wonderful wife Wilma along with our Past Presidents Ronda and Conrad

 Lots of conversation and
laughter when you are with this group
Anne and Emile, Connie and Mike at other end of table Davis and Doris and Rachel and Tom.

April 19, 2016  Tuesday. Natchez, Mississippi

Entering the historic Graveyard at Natchez

It is a huge graveyard and very old.

Many had crypts enclosed with ornate iron fences.

The wrought ironworks were beautiful

Note the Confederate flags

Very peaceful

Molly was with us so I took a picture of a Kennedy.  She was a Kennedy.

The graveyard was sectioned into the Protestants, Catholics and Jewish

This was for a favorite Priest.
The National Cemetery is overlooking the Mississippi River
The river is up from the flooding north of here
The bridge at Natchez.  Did you know you can go to the MDOT website and see the view from cameras placed on the bridge?  Pretty neat.
Under the hill at Natchez is getting precarious as the dirt is giving away.  These retainer walls have been built to preserve the hill.
What a house.  Yes it is pink and it has a grand view but in terrible disrepair.  HGTV where are you?

April 20, 2016 Vidalia, Louisiana

Ronnie trying to explain what is in the spaghetti sauce.
Brooks and Molly become members of the Magnolia Ramblers
Birthday Cake!

Excellent Chocolate Cake

The American River Boat is leaving about 9pm.  They were docked almost in front of the campsites.

April 21, 2016  We get home and start planning for our next rally.  Want to tow the car next time so we have a lot of work to do.

May  23 , 2016  Tow car progress

Thank goodness for the work done by Brooks on our tow bar.  Not only was he thorough but he had the right tools to make it work.
The bar is installed and then had to modify the drop hitch...as Ken says Nothing is simple. Our tow home was perfect but then when we got ready to go to Foley we had a malfunction and had to leave the car as we did not have time to investigate the problem.  New parts on the way so next time.

June 8, 2016  Wednesday, Rally in Gulf Shores at Anchors Aweigh, Foley, Alabama
We get a site in front of the sand lot volleyball court.  Anchors Aweigh is a very nice park.
Here we are on our site.  Did we mention it was 98 degrees and 95 degrees inside the coach until we got the air conditioning going?

We are next door to Brooks and Molly and they got the last site available.

June 9, 2016 Thursday, First night of the Rally is a pot luck dinner

Ken and Bill Thomas discuss RV repairs as Molly, Millie and I get in line.  Great cooks in this club.  We have ham and various side dishes.

Doris is  Hostess for this Rally along with Sally.  They really worked hard.
That is Millie's Redneck wineglass in the foreground which we are all watching!!

Very dear friend Millie talking with Wilma and Ruby.  Davis is just waiting for the dinner bell!

Now here is a pair swapping lies I am sure.  Great friend Earl with Ken.

June 10, 2016 Activities for today are Lunch at Gift Horse and guys working on rv projects.

Our dear friend Molly went and waited for hot donuts from Krispy Kreme.  Here she is wanting no credit.
Brooks aware hot donuts are on the table and Ken is pretty close knows to get here quick.
Molly even got him a hat

Oh yes and they are hot.

Now how many of these do I get?

This is a very large restaurant with a buffet and attached antique shop.  How much better does it get well let us tell you.
The dining room is beautifully appointed with antiques and white table cloths.

The chandeliers were spectacular and the food was excellent.
Earl telling me to not take his picture but I wanted him to know to get some Shrimp and Grits.
Then Earl tells me to get some of the Crawfish Bisque.....and it was delightful.
Over by the staircase is the table with all kinds of sweet delights.
The Ramblers are around the 1830 28 foot dining table which holds the buffet.

In the foreground are picture albums of weddings and events held here. Pretty neat.

Molly and I went to Tanger Outlets with a map in hand and a plan.  Found bargains at Chicos and Talbots.  When we returned the guys headed for the tool shop.

That evening members brought hor devours.  Anne and Emile shared a cake with us celebrating their 59th Wedding Anniversary.  Now that is special.  Had a rousing good time playing Mexican Train with Doris and Davis, Earl and cheering from the background of the Joker Poker group.

June 11, 2016  Saturday.  Last day of the Rally.

We have a hearty breakfast followed by a Business Meeting.  At the meeting LaRonda Kleinpeter was honored for all the many hours she has dedicated to the Magnolia Ramblers as a President and many other functions in the club.  Well deserved Ronda.

Ronda with her new jacket which can be logoed with the Magnolia Rambler logo.  While Ken and Brooks put the finishing touches on the dash air conditioning, Molly and I go sight seeing on the beach.  Crazy to come this far and not see the water.  Amazing all of the development that has taken place since we were here last.  Molly showed me a short cut by the entrance to Gulf Shores State Park (where we and my family from Indiana and Alabama will be residing 4th of July week).  We toured the extra large WalMart and then the Ole Time Pottery shop.

Dinner was a scrumptious Spaghetti Dinner followed by of course desserts.  We bid our group goodbye as we will all be leaving in the morning.

Thanks to Doris for this picture in the Mobile I-10 tunnel.  It was not that crowded earlier when we came through but the highway was crowded.  Great fun.  Looking forward to the next rally.
